Second Annual Asian Horror Film Event

PITTSBURGH, PA— Silk Screen Asian American Arts Organization sent a press release as of October 1 regarding their second annual Silk SCREAM Asian Horror Film Event.

The 7p.m. screening has been canceled and replaced by a partner event, “Munster, Go Home!”  “Night Fishing” and “Matrimony” will screen at 9p.m. only on Friday October 28 at the Hollywood Theatre, not 7p.m. as previously reported.

Films will screen:

Thursday October 27at the EDDY Theatre at Chatham University, 8p.m. and 

Friday October 28at the Hollywood Theatre in Dormont at 9p.m.

Shot entirely on the Apple iPhone 4 by renowned Korean director Chan-wook Park (Old Boy), "Night Fishing" represents a breakthrough in feature filmmaking. Winner of the Golden Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival. Eerie and evocative,Night Fishing tells the tale of a fisherman whose evening catch includes a terrifying encounter along a secluded riverbank.

"Matrimony" by Chinese director Teng Hua-Tao is Mainland China’s first all-out ghost movie. The film weaves the gripping narrative of deep grief and love beyond death between a man, his wife and his dead fiancée. Set against the backdrop of masterfully replicated 1930's Shanghai, this tragic horror depicts the attempts of a ghost determined to reunite with her distanced lover.

Silk SCREAM Asian Horror Cinema promises to thrill the imagination. Be prepared: your heart may skip a beat. Often copied, but never truly duplicated, Asian Horror Film is renowned for providing genre fans with some of the most boundary-pushing and artful cinema experiences to be found.

Munster, Go Home! The classic film from 1966, returns to the big screen with a special meet and greet with Butch Patrick [Eddie Munster] on Friday, October 28. Guests have the opportunity to take a picture with Grandpa Munster’s Drag U La car one hour before the 7pm show.

Please join us for a distinctive selection of blood-curdling, spine-tingling, watch-with-one-eye-covered, spooky films this Halloween season.

Tickets are $10 adults, $8 students with ID. Each screening event is a double feature. Cost includes entrance to both films.
