Join AppalAsia at our Strip District neighbor Marty’s Market for a delightful summer performance! AppalAsia combines the influences of Appalachian and Asian music traditions with original composition and inspired improvisation to create their unique musical voice. Using erhu, dulcimer, banjo, and vocals they have created a cross-cultural musical experience that draws on their collaboration of traditions with an ear toward the future.

Fresh Works is Kelly Strayhorn Theater’s month-long creative learning program for Pittsburgh-based artists. Nritya Sangam brings together two of the most prominent Indian Classical Dance forms, Kathak and Bharatanatyam, onto one platform. ReelAbilites Film Festival Pittsburgh, presented by JFilm and FASA Foundation, kicks off on October 22nd with the film “Cinemabilities”. Through interviews with Ben Affleck, Jamie Foxx, and a host of other stars, and clips from film and television, this fascinating documentary explores how the portrayal of people with disabilities has evolved over time.
