Open Streets Pittsburgh is a free event that will close the roads to cars so that people can walk, skate, dance, play, and be social. Downtown streets open for everyone. Enjoy free activities including yoga, Zumba, dance classes, and a climbing wall. Rain or Shine!
Included in the events is a Tai Chi class lead by Win-Win Kung Fu of Pittsburgh. Tai chi, which originated in China as a martial art, is a mind-body practice in complementary and alternative medicine (CAM). Tai chi is sometimes referred to as “moving meditation”—practitioners move their bodies slowly, gently, and with awareness, while breathing deeply. From a philosophical perspective tai chi is believed to help develop human potential, allow access to higher realms of awareness, and awaken one’s “true nature”.
