Second Annual Asian Horror Film Event
PITTSBURGH, PA – Silk Screen: Asian American Arts Organization presented its 2nd annual fall film event, Silk SCREAM. The event featured showings of two internationally recognized Asian Horror films:
"Night Fishing"
and
"Matrimony"
Screenings showed on:
Thursday October 27 at the EDDY Theater at Chatham University, 8p.m.
and
Friday October 28 at the Hollywood Theater in Dormont at 7p.m. and 9p.m.
Shot entirely on the Apple iPhone 4 by renowned Korean director Chan-wook Park (Old Boy), "Night Fishing" represents a breakthrough in feature filmmaking. Winner of the Golden Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival. Eerie and evocative, Night Fishing tells the tale of a fisherman whose evening catch includes a terrifying encounter along a secluded riverbank.
"Matrimony" weaves the gripping narrative of deep grief and love beyond death between a man, his wife and his dead fiancée. Set against the backdrop of masterfully replicated 1930's Shanghai, this tragic horror depicts the attempts of a ghost determined to reunite with her distanced lover.
Silk SCREAM programming promises to thrill the imagination and chill the spine. Be prepared: your heart may also skip a beat.
