Silk Screen, Asian Arts organization is a 501c3 non-profit whose mission is to promote cross-cultural education of the Asian Arts through entertainment: film, music and dance performances.
Film Programming: This person will work directly with the Film Programming Assistant to research and obtain films for that year’s Asian and Asian American Film Festival.
Research, rate, track and coordinate bringing the festival films to Pittsburgh
Arrange for screener samples of films that are deemed interesting by the Festival Programming Committee to be sent to Pittsburgh
Distribute the screeners to members of the Programming committee and keep track of the sample screeners that leave the office
Create and update the spreadsheet of the potential film choices
Watch screener samples for consideration for the film festival
Hours: Silk Screen Office – between 10-14 hours a week October through May
The main event of Silk Screen is a 10-day film festival in the spring showcasing Asian and Asian American films.
NOTE: Interns are expected to be available throughout the entire festival.
